Do you have questions about our group legal plans? Here are answers to some of the questions we are asked more frequently.

Because the coverage included in your group’s U.S. Legal Services legal insurance plan may vary, please check with your group’s administrator for specific benefit details.

In the same way that many benefits packages provide access to preventive medicine or dentistry, our plans provide access to preventive law. Also referred to as legal insurance, our legal benefits plans give plan members access to the services of an attorney in their local areas.
Our legal benefits plans make legal assistance more accessible and more affordable. They provide the peace of mind of knowing that should legal help be needed, it's always right at hand. Regardless of your income or assets, a U.S. Legal Services plan means you don't have to worry about whether you can afford legal help.
We've designed The Family Defender™ to help you and your family with a wide range of the most commonly needed legal services. These include traffic violations, estate planning, personal injury, Chapter 7 bankruptcy, adoptions, and much more.
This enhancement to our Family Defender™ and CDL Defender™ plans provides members access to fraud resolution services, including trained advisors who can evaluate an identity theft incident and guide members through the resolution process. It also includes provisions for lost wages and expense reimbursement.

For Employers

A voluntary group legal benefits plan lets your employees focus on their work instead of taking time and attention away to manage legal issues. This can translate into less wasted work time, better job performance, lower healthcare costs, less absenteeism, and more. Our plans allow you to offer the kind of benefits that today's best job candidates are seeking. Best of all, our plans are easy to administer and are available at no cost to employers. Learn more about how a legal benefits plan can help you  build a better workforce.
Some Employee Assistance Plans (EAPs) include a form of legal benefits, but these are customarily limited to initial consultations and a discount on legal fees. Our legal benefits plans provide comprehensive coverage for your employees' most-needed services, and cover these services in full. Fees are paid by the plan, so there's no need for a discount on attorneys' services. Learn more about the differences.

For Commercial Drivers and Motor Carriers

This comprehensive plan covers drivers on the job or in their personal vehicles and their spouses are covered as well. In addition to moving and non-moving violations for both carriers and drivers which are covered at 100 percent the plan also includes coverage for many common life events that may involve legal matters, such as divorce, wills, identity theft protection, and much more.
The CDL Defender™ was created to meet the unique needs of the trucking industry: Drivers constantly face fines, suspension, or even revocation of their licenses, while both drivers and carriers must deal with increasingly stringent regulations. To help carriers keep freight moving and protect drivers' livelihoods, The CDL Defender™ is part of many carriers' strategies to improve safety while supporting the accuracy of drivers' records.
